EMI Classics is thrilled to announce the release of The John Wilson Orchestra’s That’s Entertainment: A Celebration of the MGM Film Musical, in both Standard and Deluxe editions, plus a live concert DVD! With a cast of all-star singers including Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane, Broadway star Kim Criswell, pop and jazz vocalist Curtis Stigers and more, world-renowned conductor and arranger John Wilson leads his orchestra on this dazzling recording of some of the best-loved songs from Hollywood’s Golden Age. This is the first time these songs, including “Singin’ in the Rain”, “Steppin’ Out with My Baby”, “The Trolley Song”, and title track “That’s Entertainment”, have been recorded in their intended orchestration since the films’ original soundtrack recordings - MGM destroyed the original scores in 1969, and for this recording John Wilson has lovingly and painstakingly reconstructed them by ear.
